Memorial Day is here and whether you're looking to begin your summer shopping or grab a bite to eat, consumers will have plenty of shopping and dining options on the holiday.
Most national retailers, grocery stores and restaurant chains will be open on Monday, albeit some with reduced hours. While most places will be open, there is one notable exception: Costco warehouses will be closed. Banks and post offices will also be closed on Monday.
The holiday is one of many in the U.S. that observe and honor the armed forces. Originally called "Decoration Day," Memorial Day dates back to the 1860s and commemorates those who have died while serving in the U.S. military.

The agency did say Priority Mail Express is delivered 365 days a year, including Sundays.
UPS and FedExpickup and delivery services will not be available on Memorial Day. UPS Store locations may be closed, according the company's website, and FedEx Office hours will also be modified.
Branches of Capital One, Bank of America, PNC, Truist, Citibank, and JPMorgan Chase will be closed on Monday, the companies confirmed to USA TODAY. Capital One Cafes will remain open.
